At the end of the 26th Slovenian campaign "My Doctor 2022", in which participants chose the most caring and emphatic doctors to show them their gratitude for their self-sacrificing work, President Borut Pahor, the honorary patron of the campaign, held a gala reception for the award recipients at the Presidential Palace. It was also attended by the head of the national programme ZORA, Urška Ivanuš, a public health specialist, who was awarded the title of "My Specialist 2022". This year, for the first time, a public health doctor received the award in this category.
President Pahor stressed that this is "in fact the only recognition that doctors receive from your patients, which makes the weight of this award all the greater", adding that the mission of doctors is irreplaceable, and we must give them the attention they deserve, also because they are not responsible for the problems caused by the organisation of health care.
All ZORA colleagues would like to congratulate the head of our programme on receiving this honourable title. We believe that her hard work, professionalism, optimism and kindness convinced everyone who voted for her.
We would also like to extend our sincere congratulations to Domen Ribnikar, Specialist in Internal Oncology at the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana, who received the award for his heartfelt, professional and compassionate work in the category "My Oncologist 2022".
